It happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10 in West Babylon.

Carissa Sanchez, 45, of Brooklyn, was crossing Straight Path eastbound, between 12 Street and 13 Street, when she was struck by a northbound 1994 Ford Tempo, driven by a 26-year-old Brentwood woman, Suffolk County Police said.

Sanchez was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries. The Brentwood woman was not injured.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
